Inside a station, a map is not enough

Concourses stack over each other, passages cross under the tracks and your phone's position drifts indoors. A straight line on a map will point you through a platform you cannot walk across. What actually works is knowing whether the bin is inside or outside the gates, and which level it is on — so the app hands you to a maps app with indoor floors whenever the target is in a station's orbit, instead of drawing a line it cannot honour.

Bottles and cans are the easy case at any station: the recycling boxes beside the vending machines on the platforms take them, and nothing else. A coffee cup is the hard case — a convenience store where you buy something, or your hotel, remains the realistic answer.
